The Brain Tumour Charity's Manchester marathon team are going further, faster for a cure!

Story

I have signed up to run the Manchester marathon in 2026 for a charity that is extremely close to my heart: The Brain Tumour Charity (TBTC)✨

In September 2024 my dad called me to ask if I would run the marathon with him. I laughed and said “no chance, think of the shin splints” He signed up anyway but sadly in April 2025 my absolute hero of a dad passed away after his battle with a brain tumour.

I am not a runner by any stretch of the imagination but my dad was the strongest person I knew. He was determined and had so much love to give and so I am committing myself to this challenge and giving it my best. He always told me I could do anything I set my mind on.

Our world turned upside down when my dad was diagnosed with a glioblastoma. However, this wasn’t the end of my dad’s story. This diagnosis did not stop him or hold him back as he cycled the London 100 mile bike ride TWICE and dedicated the last 3 years to raising as much money as he could for TBTC (almost £20,000).

The brain tumour charity support vital research, raise awareness and provide care for those affected with a brain tumour.

Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults and yet less than 3% of funding goes towards brain tumour research.

Every donation, big or small, will help to drive forward life-changing treatments, improve support for patients and families, and bring hope so that, hopefully, one day, a diagnosis like my dads doesn’t have to turn your world upside down and we stand a fighting chance of sticking around much longer ❤️

Please consider donating if you can and sharing my page to make a difference.
