Story
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), is the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. This charity helps children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening.
Having been affected by sexual abuse as a minor and having struggled with the impact of the cruel actions of another, I wish to help this charity in a way that I can, to help raise awareness for other vulnerable children that are affected by abuse. Every child should be protected and no child should have to endure abuse and feel as though they have to keep quiet about their abuse or neglect.
The last 6 months have been extremely stressful and that is exactly why I started to run! I love the way running makes me feel and how it makes me feel empowered and free. Running has changed my life in the sense of its positive impact it’s had on my mental health. That’s exactly why I decided that I could face a Half Marathon; because I’m going to love it! I am extremely proud of myself for how far I have come and to now be in a position to raise money for children who have been affected by something similar to what I endured as a child. I hope anyone who has been affected by any child abuse or neglect will one day realise just how strong they are!
Please help me support and raise money for this incredible charity, that protects children from abuse and neglect. NSPCC works tirelessly to provide support, guidance, and advocacy for children who have experienced harm. Their aims include preventing abuse before it happens through education and awareness campaigns, supporting children who have been affected by abuse, and lobbying for changes in legislation and policy to better protect children. Through their various services, including helplines, counselling, and community programs, NSPCC strives to create a safer and healthier environment for all children.
