Tara’s fundraiser for Freddie's Ataxia Fund

Laura Calder is raising money for Freddie's Ataxia Fund

Ben Lomond Hike · 2 August 2026

Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) is a rare neuro-degenerative disease. It affects balance, coordination, mobility, fine motor skills, and fatigue amongst other things. By supporting us you will help us to deliver our vision of supporting people with FA so that they may have the best possible lives.

Story

Freddie’s Ataxia Fund is a charity set up by the friends and family of Eilidh Kiddie, to support people with Friedreichs’s ataxia to adapt to life with the condition.

Tara was inspired to push herself to raise money for the charity, after attending a family fun evening earlier this year, and felt she wanted to do something to help.

Tara and Eilidh’s mums have been good friends since they worked as Physiotherapists together 25 years ago, and Tara has known Eilidh her whole life!

This is all Tara’s idea and we would love you to help us support in any way you can!
