Heart Of England 100 Ultra Challenge

Laura Chapman is raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity

Heart Of England 100 · 10 June 2026

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

In June 2026, during British Heart Week, I will be embarking on a 100mile run along the Heart of England Way. An undulating, picturesque route from Milford Common near Cannock Chase to Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds. I am aiming to complete the massive challenge in 100 hours.

As a family we have much to be grateful for in the care that has been given by all at the hospital.

At Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, we believe there’s always more we can do for our sick kids and that’s why we will always strive to do more for our patients and families. It’s our mission to raise the vital funds needed to make a real difference to all who use our hospital.

Your support empowers us to take innovative approaches to treating some of the sickest children in the UK. Your fundraising enables us to make our hospital feel just like home. Your donations are helping us to find new ways to treat and cure childhood diseases.
