Story
My name is Laura, and I have faced the challenges of poor mental health since I was a child. At 20, I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder a moment that profoundly changed my life and since then, I have received additional diagnoses of comorbid mental health conditions. It does not however, define me nor anyone.
For years, I struggled to get out of bed, trapped in a cycle where even the smallest tasks felt insurmountable. Two minute walks, at times, felt impossible.
Suicide touches our lives in the most deeply painful way, whether through the loss of someone we know or through our own personal battles. I am glad I am still here.
This June, I will be walking 90 miles for CALM, a suicide prevention charity, in support of those who, like me, have faced the crushing weight of getting up each day, and for those who have lost their lives to suicide. Your encouragement means the world and will help make a difference for those struggling. Any support would be amazing.
