Story
Running for Freedom: Supporting Christians Against Poverty (CAP) High Peak Debt Centre.
On September 28th, 2025, a group from our church family at Revive Church, New Mills, will be running the Chatsworth 10K — not just to cross a finish line, but to help others find freedom from debt and poverty through the life-changing work of Christians Against Poverty (CAP).
When we first heard about the Chatsworth 10K, we felt a clear nudge from God:
“Do it. Invite others. Raise funds for CAP.”
So here we are — stepping out in faith together and inviting you to be part of it.
💚 Why CAP?
CAP walks alongside people in crisis, offering practical help, compassionate support, and the hope of Jesus. Since our local centre launched in January 2023, we’ve seen:
18 people go debt-free, clearing a total of £271,440.79
In 2025 alone, 7 clients have already broken free from £166,642.32 of unmanageable debt
This isn’t about poor choices — it’s about survival:
58% had to borrow just to buy food
33% borrowed to pay utility bills
47% skipped meals altogether
These are real people. Real families. And the need is growing fast. The centre is now fully booked and urgently needs to train more debt coaches to meet demand.
