I’m trading comfort for the Arctic to help change children's lives and give them a brighter future.

In January 2027, I'll be taking on one of the toughest challenges I've ever attempted - the Arctic Challenge. Set in the heart of Lapland, over 150km inside the Arctic Circle, this challenge will push me to my physical and mental limits.

I'll be facing temperatures as low as -35°C, with only a few hours of daylight each day, while taking on a series of demanding endurance and survival challenges.

Over the course of the challenge, I'll be tackling:

* 🛷 A 35km dog sled race

* 🥾 A 20km Arctic hike

* 🎣 Ice fishing

* 🧭 Orienteering

* 🔥 Wilderness survival challenges in the frozen Arctic landscape

I'm not taking on this challenge just to test myself. I'm doing it to raise money for the National Literacy Trust and help ensure children from the poorest backgrounds aren't held back before their lives have really begun.

Across the UK, children from the poorest backgrounds start school, on average, 19 months behind their peers. Without strong literacy skills, they're:

- Four times more likely to be unemployed at 34

- Three times more likely to experience mental health problems as adults

Reading is something many of us take for granted, but for too many children, it isn't. Every donation will help the National Literacy Trust give children the literacy skills, confidence and opportunities they need to build brighter futures.

The money I raise through this event will help to transform the life stories of children in the most disadvantaged areas of the UK.

If you're able to donate, no matter how big or small, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every donation and every share will help the National Literacy Trust continue its vital work.

Thank you so much for supporting me through this incredible challenge.
