When Mark and I decided to sign up to the Brighton Half, it was to give ourselves the challenge of keeping healthy through the winter months. I didn't think it would be something I would be fundraising for.

However, in recent weeks, it occurred to me that Tommy's would be a great charity to run for, because it is close to my family's heart.

The world of obstetrics and fertility is really only in its infancy and there is still so much research to be done to keep families safe and free from the heartbreak that nobody ever deserves to go through - often multiple times, let alone just once.

We shouldn't accept "unexplained miscarriage" as an endpoint - it's just not all explainable yet.

Tommy’s exist to stop the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss and to make pregnancy and birth safer - for everyone.
