Laura and Rich will be trekking up Mount Snowdon in Wales to raise vital funds the wonderful community fund We Love Lichfield.

We Love Lichfield is a fund that supports thousands of people across the district of Lichfield every year.

We make awards to small local charities and voluntary groups, who are working at a grassroots level to bring about change in their own community. From providing youth clubs and sports activities for youngsters, to supporting people with health issues, to supporting older people and breaking social isolation, any organisation can apply for funding from We Love Lichfield. We Love Lichfield is part of The Community Foundation for Staffordshire.

How does it work?

All money raised for We Love Lichfield is spent exclusively in the district. Every penny raised is invested to produce an income, which is awarded as grants to organisations in Lichfield twice every year. As the fund grows so does the amount that we can award. We now make awards of more than £50,000 every year to organisations supporting some of the most vulnerable in our community.

Every year many businesses and local people, who care so much about their local community and Lichfield, decide that they want to give something back - to help those people that they see every day, and whose work makes a difference to the lives of thousands across the district. We Love Lichfield helps those people to direct their donation to where it is needed most, on the ground, supporting ordinary people.

A fund like this is established in perpetuity - it will always be there, and will always support local people and help to address local needs
