Story
Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page.
We’re a father and daughter team—Robert and Laura—taking on the 2026 London Marathon to raise money for Lymphoma Action, the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting people affected by lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer.
Why We’re Running
In December 2024, just before Christmas, our world was turned upside down when Bev, Robert’s wife and Laura’s mum, was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma, a rare form of cancer that affects the immune system.
It was a devastating shock for our family. The months that followed were filled with fear and uncertainty. Thankfully, after intensive chemotherapy, Bev is now in remission and doing well, although she will continue to have regular check-ups.
Lymphoma Action provide invaluable support and information. Their work ensures no one has to face lymphoma alone, a mission that is now deeply personal to us.
Our Challenge
Running a marathon together has been a bucket list dream of ours for years. (Laura’s talked about it a lot more than Robert, but still!)
In April 2026, that dream becomes a reality as we line up together to run 26.2 miles through the streets of London.
This will be Robert’s first marathon in 24 years, having last run London in 2002, and he’ll be turning 65 the same year. Laura will also be celebrating her 40th birthday, making this a milestone challenge for us both.
Together, we’ll be training hard, supporting each other, and running with purpose. For Bev, for our family, and for every person affected by lymphoma.
How You Can Help
We’re aiming to raise as much as we can for Lymphoma Action. Every donation, no matter how small, will help fund vital support services, resources, and research for those living with lymphoma.
Thank you for your generosity, encouragement, and for being part of this journey with us.
