Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page supporting the MND Association.
On what would have been my Dad’s 68th Birthday I decided to sign up to walk the 25 km Thames Bridges Trek on my birthday, Saturday 12th September.
My wonderful Dad, Martin Halvey passed away in February 2026 after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in October 2025.
It is a cruel disease which has taken my Dad away much too soon. Every day 6 people are diagnosed with MND. There is no cure for MND, and it moves fast, taking precious time away. Life expectancy is 2 - 3 years after symptom onset. My Dad was a rare case and had a lot less time.
The Motor Neurone Disease Association financially helped my Dad and Stepmum, Carrie. when they needed it. And so I hope to raise money to help support other families whose worlds are being turned upside down while they are having to navigate their way through this disease.
Sponsor me on here and your money will change the lives of people affected by motor neurone disease in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
JustGiving will send your donation directly to the MND Association.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure – your details are safe, they’ll never sell them or send unwanted emails.
