Bournemouth Half Marathon 2024 · 13 October 2024 ·

Dingley's Promise provide places where children, from birth to 5 years, with special educational needs and disabilities come to develop skills through play. More than this, it is a place where their parents/carers are welcome, where they can make friends and share experiences.

Story

On the 13th October 2024, I will be running my FIRST EVER half marathon by taking part in the Bournemouth Half Marathon.

For anyone who knows me, running is something I have been dipping in and out of for a number of years, with varying levels of commitment (and questionable ability, usually performing more of a shuffle than a run). My goal for this year was to run a half marathon in February, however, a broken ankle meant this didn't quite go to plan.

I'm now committed to reach my goal of a half marathon and am excited to be doing this in support of Dingley's Promise, who are truly an amazing charity.

Dingley's Promise believe in the best start for every child. Their mission is to deliver life changing support to under 5's with additional needs and disabilities and their families, by providing specialist learning through play, family support, training and advice to mainstream settings.

Dingley's provide support to over 170 families and help to provide a safe and fun place for children to grow and develop.

If you have any spare pennies, please consider donating to help me reach my fundraising goal - thank you!
