Why Petals?

In the words of my amazing sister Amy…

”Losing a baby is something that no one should experience. It is an isolating, heart wrenching pain that nobody can relate to unless they’ve sadly been through it.

We had to say goodbye to our daughter, Alice in my second trimester of pregnancy; it will forever be the hardest and most heartbreaking thing I have ever been through.

Petals is the only type of counselling I found of its kind. It isn’t standard counselling, or even grief counselling - it is baby loss counselling. It is specifically there for this very unexpected, very intense grief. Their counsellors understand, they can relate, they provided ways to cope during the darkest period of my life and taught me ways to live with my grief of losing my daughter.

Sadly, as a charity their services are limited and they can only offer support to couples through certain hospitals they are affiliated with. This needs to change, they want this to change.

Who Are Petals?

The specialist counselling service that we provide is life-changing for parents who have suffered the devastating loss of a pregnancy or death of a baby. We know that these tragic experiences not only result in grief but also in trauma. Our wonderful counsellors are there to help our clients navigate their grief and trauma and to guide them to a place of hope.

Supporting this challenge you will be helping us to deliver more vital counselling sessions to bereaved parents when they need us.
