Laura's fundraiser for Williams Syndrome Foundation

WSF 100k In May · 1 May 2025 to 31 May 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
I'm running 100k in May to raise money for The Williams Syndrome Foundation. Now running 3.3k a day may not sound like much but, for my age and stage I can assure you, it will be a significant challenge. It's basically running over half a marathon a week, for 4 weeks.
No rest days. No time off for holidays. No breaks. Why? Cos people with Williams Syndrome don't ever take breaks from the challenges they face. They conquer so much more than the rest of us every single day. And the Williams Syndrome Foundation (WSF) is an amazing organisation that helps makes life just that little bit easier for people with Williams Syndrome.
The WSF is a small charity serving a unique and very special population that includes my youngest son, Winston. The charity relies entirely on fundraising and donations to provide support, information and practical resources for people with Williams Syndrome and for those who love, care for, and educate them.
The charity is vital to families like mine as Williams Syndrome is rare and many people, including teachers, doctors, and nurses, have never heard of it. The charity funds specialist research to help families and professionals better understand the individual characteristics of the syndrome, so that people with Williams Syndrome can be better supported to live healthier and happier lives.
The Foundation provides resources for families and professionals so that they can give appropriate care and education, and the charity also arranges and funds events, so that people with Williams Syndrome and their families can get together to share, learn and have fun together.
