I am running a half marathon in Killarney on the 13th of May 2023 and will be abseiling down the Europa Hotel in Belfast on the 21st of May in aid of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Research Charity in Belfast.

On 19th of October 2022 my sister Ciara had Periacetabular Osteotomy (PAO) surgery in Musgrave Park hospital. This was in the wake of Ciara suffering severe hip pain and deteriorating mobility over the last five years. Her life as a twenty-four year old was effectively on hold and everyday tasks were becoming too much.

It was one of the first surgeries of this kind performed in Northern Ireland. The aim of this major surgery was to realign her hip in order to preserve her own hip for as long as possible. The surgery is performed in young adults.

Ciara is lucky to be under the care of the best Orthopaedic surgeons and rehab team. She attends the Mitre Rehabilitation Unit in preparation for her next surgery.

I am fundraising for this charity to support the great work they do. And to say thank you relighting Ciara's fire.
