Story
In November 2022, my wonderful Mum was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. It has since been the most difficult years of our lives.
Everything that I am, is because of my Mum. Along with my Dad, she has dedicated her life to helping women as a midwife, and as a colposcopy nurse. She raised me to be kind, generous and hard working, and has shown me the true meaning of resilience in the face of adversity. No matter what life throws at her, staggeringly, she keeps going.
Ovarian cancer affects thousands of women every year, yet, it's one of the most underfunded, under-researched cancers. If we’d been aware of what the symptoms were, perhaps we could’ve caught it earlier.
Because of this, I’m committing to “Walking 100 Miles in May” for Target Ovarian, with the aim of spreading awareness of the symptoms to as many people as I can.
Women — I’m urging you — take this as your sign to familiarise yourself with the symptoms. Below, I’ve attached some resources. Please take a look.
I’m doing this for my Mum, and if even one woman comes away from this knowing what to look out for, then this will be worth it❤️
If you feel inclined to donate, it would be hugely appreciated!🥹
