Richmond Lawn Tennis Club (RLTC) is a private members’ tennis club, part of Old Deer Park Sports Ground in Kew, Surrey. All our members are passionate about tennis - some being more demonstrative than others on court, but all equally proud to play under the back drop of the Pagoda at Kew Gardens.

During 2020, RLTC was a safe haven for many people, allowing us to still play tennis and stay connected as a community. We wanted to take an opportunity to set up a charity event that celebrated our love of tennis and allowed us to give something back. This Pagoda Cup has been an annual event at the club since then.

space2grieve is our chosen charity this year. Local to the club, situated in East Twickenham, space2grieve provides support in a series of free, confidential, one-to-one sessions for anyone navigating their way through grief. Those who have gone through it, know it can be overwhelming and affect all aspects of life, often resurfacing years after the event. For us at RTLC, tennis is a way to block out the challenges of life, but it can only go so far. Experienced, professional, caring support can help to acknowledge and explore feelings and empower people to find a way forward.

The Pagoda Cup will be a team tennis event played on Saturday 26th September. Fast paced, furiously competitive with the last team standing being able to bask in the glory of triumph under a (hopefully) setting sun over the Pagoda.
