Story
“Am I crazy enough?”
When the ladies at Banbury Star Cycling Club asked if anyone fancied cycling from London to Paris in September 2027, my first thought was… am I crazy enough?
Then they told me it was in support of Katharine House Hospice, and my mind immediately went to my Nan.
Am I crazy enough? Absolutely.
I went straight home and signed up… now I just have to cycle all the way to Paris! 🤣🚴♀️
My Nan spent several weeks at Katharine House Hospice during the final stages of her illness. She always talked about how wonderful everyone was. The staff didn’t just provide incredible care—they sat with her, chatted to her, made her laugh and ensured she never felt alone. She especially loved spending time in the beautiful gardens.
Those memories have stayed with me, and this ride is my way of saying thank you.
Every mile I cycle will be in memory of my Nan and in support of a hospice that means so much to so many local families across Banbury and the surrounding villages.
Katharine House relies heavily on the generosity of our local community. It costs over £16,000 every day to keep the hospice running, funding not only expert clinical care but also the extra services that make such a huge difference—from bereavement support and art therapy to relaxation sessions and so much more.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, you’ll be helping ensure this incredible hospice can continue caring for local families when they need it most.
Nan, I’ll be thinking of you every mile from London to Paris. 🩷
Thank you so much for your support.
