To celebrate turning 40 at the end of February, I've decided to face my fears and take on an exciting challenge: a sky-dive to raise funds for the Teenage and Young Adults with Cancer unit within the Beatson! During my nine years as the Cancer Research UK Lead Research Nurse at the Beatson I had the privilege of caring for many inspiring young patients and I have seen first-hand the incredible impact that specialist support can have during this difficult time.

The mission of the TYA service is to provide age appropriate care and holistic support to patients aged 16-25 facing a cancer diagnosis in the West of Scotland. The Beatson Cancer Charity plays a crucial role in supporting these efforts through funds and grants, ensuring that patients and their families receive the assistance they need. I am participating in the 'Teenage and Young Adults with Cancer Skydive with Beatson Cancer Charity' event on March 1, 2025, to raise awareness of TYA patients' needs and to raise funds to support them on their journeys.
