Story
In December, I could barely run 2km. By September, I am preparing to run the South Coast Ultra Challenge 2026, covering an incredible distance of 100km. No, I am not new to running I have always been a very active person, but in December my joints were in so much pain that exercise was a struggle. Every morning, I woke up exhausted, my mind foggy, and overwhelmed. Some days felt hopeless despite having so much to live for.
After consulting several doctors, it was a menopause specialist who identified the cause in under ten minutes. At just 38 years old, I had no idea perimenopause could start so early. Receiving the right support transformed my life not because hormone replacement therapy turned back time but because my symptoms became manageable. My mind clears most days, and now I can run again.
This journey is why I am running this challenge for the Menopause Research and Education Fund (MREF). They fund vital menopause research and train healthcare professionals—many of whom receive no menopause education despite half the population experiencing it. Your donation will directly support this crucial work.
For your mum. Your sister. Yourself.
Please donate and share this cause with others. Together, we can change lives.
Thank you.
