Story
The 'Dream Team' aka Russell Miller, Tim Clark, Matt King and I going to be peddling our little legs off by taking part in the Challenge Adventure Charities epic cycle ride around Brittany - all 561 miles of it! The event will be split over three days:
Day 1 follows La Vélomaritime, along the Brittany coast for 188 miles to Morlaix;
Day 2 follows the coastline for 206 miles and 3424m of ascent to the Western tip of France and on to Quimper;
Day 3 heads inland through the Montagnes Noires back to Saint Malo, covering 167 miles.
As a team of 4, we will be competing against other 'less dreamy' Vail Williams teams all with the same goal - to raise as much money as possible for a very worthy cause, and Vail Williams' nominated South Coast Regional Charity for 2024/25, Sophie's Legacy.
50% of money raised goes to the CAC chosen charities, Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation. Cancer Research UK is a charity that means a little more to me now, having lost my mother earlier this year to cancer. The remaining 50% of monies raised will go to Vail Williams nominated charity, Sophie’s Legacy.
Sophie's Legacy is in memory of a very special young girl Sophie Fairall who sadly passed away aged 10 in 2021 after a very brave battle against a rare form of childhood cancer called Rhabdomyosarcom.

The money raised will be used to support families that find themselves in hospital with their children, where often there are not the facilities needed.
Being relatively new to cycling, this is both a personal challenge to do something I never dreamed that I would be able to do. But, and infinitely more important, we are hoping to raise as much money as we can, to go towards a cause that will tug at your heart strings.
