Story
I am supporting this charity as we would like to give something back to Sheffield Children's Hospital as a massive thank you for how the teams in the intensive care unit, burns unit and theatres all looked after our son, Sammy, over Christmas. He was scalded on 13th December and had to be sedated for a few days and then undergo several trips to theatre before a skin graft on his shoulder just before the new year. We will continue to visit the hospital for appointments for the next couple of years, with constant scar aftercare. It was Christmas while we were there and he was given gifts from Santa and visited by members of Sheffield United and the Sheffield Steelers. All of this made possible by the help of the charity.
The Sheffield Children's Hospital charity supports thousands of patients and families, from across the UK and beyond, by funding the life-changing and the joy-sparking. They make clinical care kinder, and bad days brighter. They bring play, laughter and comfort to places where they’re needed the most.
They also fund groundbreaking research, specialist medical equipment and new facilities, creating an engaging environment built with children in mind.
