Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am aiming to run 228km during May 2025 to raise funds for The Ben Kinsella Trust. The Ben Kinsella Trust tackles knife crime through education and awareness. This is a charity that is close to my heart having been personally affected by knife crime.
Why 228km?
In England and Wales there were 228 knife-enabled homicides in the 12 months to September 2024. I would like to run a km for every person.
228km in a month will also represent a real challenge for me. I am a regular runner, but this will be pushing me out of my comfort zone.
Why May 2025?
I have picked May because knife crime awareness week takes place between 19th - 25th May.
How can I find out more about knife crime in the UK?
The Ben Kinsella Trust website has some fantastic resources. The recently aired documentary Idris Elba: Our Knife Crime Crisis also provides insight into knife crime in the UK.
