Story
Laura’s Ben Nevis Challenge for Deaf Connexions 🏔️
This year, I’m setting myself a completely new challenge — climbing Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK — to support Deaf Connexions and the incredible work they do for the deaf community.
For years, football has been my passion. Now I’m swapping the pitch for the mountains and pushing myself in a different way, all for a cause that truly matters.
Deaf Connexions provides communication support, advice services, social opportunities, and wellbeing workshops that help deaf people stay informed, connected, and supported. For many, it’s a lifeline.
Losing our Deaf Centre was a huge blow. It wasn’t just a building — it was a place where friendships were built, information was shared, and people felt understood. With the original building no longer safe, the charity is now operating from a temporary rented space while working to secure something suitable and accessible for the community. This brings added financial pressure and uncertainty.
That’s why I’m taking on this challenge.
Every step up that mountain is for our community. Every donation — no matter how small — helps protect vital services and keeps support available for those who need it most.
If you can, please donate and help make a real difference.
Thank you so much for backing me and supporting Deaf Connexions 💙
