Story
Laura worked for Bede's World as Museum and Education Manager, Curator, and Acting Director. She gave everything she had towards it, sinking her effort into spreading the word about Anglo-Saxon Northumbria and Bede. Bede's World is now Jarrow Hall, managed by Groundwork, and this fundraiser is in memory of her life, cut so tragically short. They are fundraising right now to repair vandalism inflicted on the reconstructed Anglo-Saxon buildings - see their words below. Please give if you can.
Thank you,
Tom
We have been saddened by recent vandalism to our much loved reconstruction Anglo-Saxon village at Jarrow Hall. Our small team have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure the site can safely welcome visitors back when we re-open our doors and a few people have made this even harder for us.
The village has three full-scale buildings constructed nearly thirty years ago using traditional techniques and based on excavations which took place in Northumberland - the Thirlings Hall, Monastic workshop and Grubenhaus
Our team which includes dedicated volunteers are able to bring history to life for school children, visitors and local families, helping them to learn about and enjoy our Anglo-Saxon heritage and this would be greatly missed.
