Team: Team fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support

In memory of My Uncle BJ

National 3 Peaks Challenge · 25 June 2026

We support people in the north of Scotland who are affected by cancer or a blood disorder. Working hand-in-glove with the NHS, we take care of the ‘big little things’, and we fund cutting-edge equipment and research. Every penny makes an impact as our operating costs are covered by Balmoral Group.

Story

On 25th June 2026, the four of us will be taking on the National 3 Peaks Challenge - climbing the highest mountain in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) within 24 hours.

That’s around 23 miles of walking, over 3,000 metres of ascent, very little sleep, very sore legs… and plenty of laughs (and snacks) to keep us going.

The idea started when Jordee floated the “slightly mad” plan of doing something big in 2026. Lauren, as a keen hill walker, was in straight away. Sam saw the perfect excuse to get back into fitness while having a great time with the girls. And Danya, well the challenge falls on the anniversary of her Grandad’s passing so it was meant to be.

And while we all have our own reasons for taking this on, my main motivation is my uncle BJ.

BJ was one of those people who was always doing something for someone else. He loved a fundraiser, loved helping people, and kept that generous spirit going right up until the end. Taking on three mountains in 24 hours feels like a pretty fitting way to celebrate him.

I’ll be raising money for Friends of Anchor, who supported BJ equally as much as he supported them! This challenge is my way of saying thank you, giving something back, and carrying on the amazing fundraising spirit he had.

The rest of the team will still be raising money for Macmillan, in recognition of the incredible support they gave Danya’s grandad and so many others facing cancer. Between us, we’re hoping to turn a very long, very hilly day into something really positive for two brilliant causes.

We’re a mixed bunch - different reasons, different personalities, same goal: climb three mountains, survive the car journeys in between, enjoy every step (even the tough ones) and raise as much as we can along the way.

If you’re able to donate, we’d be hugely grateful. If not, moral support and sympathy messages are also very welcome!!

Thank you for helping us celebrate my Uncle BJ and Danya’s Grandad, support Friends of Anchor and Macmillan and spread a bit of good while we tackle this epic adventure.
