Story
This KiltWalk 2026, I’ll be walking to raise money for The Young Women’s Movement, who support young women and girls all across Scotland with the information, resources and network to advocate for the issues that matter to them.
Any young woman reading this can think back to a time of hardship. Chances are, you won’t have to think back too far. Young women have always faced challenges, but our modern age puts us in a position where not only do new technologies threaten our freedoms, but a return to far-right rhetoric threatens the progress many generations of women before us have fought for. What makes The Young Women’s Network special is both its ability to provide compassion in these difficult times and empowerment to do something about them. The support I have personally received from The Young Women’s Network has helped me to recognise I am not alone in my experiences, and advocate for fairer treatment for all women in the spaces I’ve occupied.
By supporting The Young Women’s Movement at this upcoming Kiltwalk, we can move a step closer to a Scotland where the next generation of girls can grow and flourish in a community without prejudice, exclusion or fear. Our donations can help to fund research, develop policies and most importantly run the programs which directly involve the young women of Scotland in creative advocacy, in their communities and at the parliamentary level.
