Story
In April 2026, I’ll be taking on the London Marathon, all 26.2 miles, to raise vital funds for the Meningitis Research Foundation.
This cause is incredibly close to my heart. When my little brother was a baby, he was diagnosed with meningitis. Thankfully, after a very scary time for our family, he made a full recovery and is now 21 and doing great. But not every family is as fortunate — and that’s why I’m running.
Meningitis can strike quickly and without warning. It’s an infection of the brain and spinal cord lining that can kill in hours or leave survivors with life-changing after-effects like hearing loss, brain damage, or limb loss.
Every year in the UK:
Around 2,000 people are affected by bacterial meningitis and septicaemia
1 in 10 will die
1 in 3 survivors will be left with lifelong complications
Worldwide, meningitis still kills more children under 5 than malaria in some regions.
The Meningitis Research Foundation works tirelessly to:
Fund life-saving research into vaccines, treatment, and prevention
Raise awareness of symptoms for quicker diagnoses
Support families and survivors through difficult recoveries
Your donation will help fund research, education, and support to end the devastation of meningitis — and help other families avoid the fear and uncertainty mine went through.
Whether you can give £5 or £50, every donation means the world to me. Let’s cross that finish line together and make a real difference💜
