I am so excited to announce that I am running Tokyo 2027 for my 6th star with MDUK!!!!

I chose MDUK because muscular dystrophy is very near and dear to my heart. My son Shea was diagnosed with Becker muscular dystrophy in 2023. We noticed something was off when he wasn't able to keep up with other kids on the soccer field. This lead to blood tests and eventually after 6 months genetic testing which showed Shea is missing an exon in his dystrophin gene causing him to have Becker muscular dystrophy.

After we got the diagnosis we were taken in by a charity and given all the information that they have. We learned that the only way we are going to know Shea's prognosis is with time. The uncertanty has become easier to live with as the time goes on.

Since Shea's diagnosis I have only run for muscular dystrophy charities. I completed both Chicago and NYC for PPMD and recently ran London for MDUK. These two charities are raising money to fund research and support those living with MD. I run for Shea so that one day when he needs support and care and medicine there is a chance we might have something.
