I am raising money on behalf of the Countess of Chester Charity , fundraising for the Extra Mile Appeal. I’ll be running the Chester Half Marathon in support of this fantastic cause. The appeal is a staff-led campaign aiming to raise £250,000 to provide additional equipment for wards across our hospital and enhance patient care.

As someone who works at the Countess, I see first-hand the dedication of our staff and the difference the right equipment can make. While the NHS provides essential equipment, this appeal is about going further giving teams the extra tools they need to deliver even more efficient, compassionate, and high-quality care.

Imagine the difference if every ward had its own dedicated equipment: faster diagnoses, quicker discharges, and fewer delays. Most importantly, it means more time for staff to focus on what truly matters, caring for our patients.
