Lauren's London Marathon 2026!

Lauren Kirkland is raising money for Multiple Sclerosis Society

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

In 2026, over 300 MS Superstar runners will take on the London Marathon, to raise funds and awareness for the MS Society and to help stop MS. This is their team page.

Story

As most of you know, my lovely Mum was diagnosed with MS in 2021 and ran the London Marathon in 2019, pre her diagnosis. I am taking on the London Marathon for the MS society as the work they do is vital in supporting those living with MS and funding research into treatments and medical research.

One of Mum's symptoms is known as 'leg drop', which affects her leg's ability to lift up when she's walking and can make her quite unsteady on her feet. Running was one of her favourite things to do, and the London Marathon was her favourite event she had competed in. Due to the 'leg drop' she is now unable to run, but she will be chasing me around London and cheering me on in April as best as she can!

If anyone can donate anything, large or small, know that it will be going towards life changing research and support for people like my Mum, living with MS.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! I'm running the 2026 London Marathon, to support the work of the MS Society.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable condition that affects your brain and spinal cord. In MS, the coating that protects your nerves (myelin) is damaged. This causes a range of symptoms like blurred vision and problems with how we move, think and feel.

More than 150,000 people in the UK have MS. Once diagnosed, MS stays with you for life, but treatments and specialists can help you to manage the condition and its symptoms.

The MS Society is here to help everyone live well with MS.

Every year they reach thousands of people with help and support through their MS Helpline and local groups. They campaign on the issues that matter most to the MS community. And they invest in ground-breaking research to stop MS in its tracks.

Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.
