🧡 This challenge is inspired by Stand Up To Cancer who are challenging people to run 10 x 5Ks across the month. But I wanted to bring it closer to home and raise money for something that is directly helping people going through treatment here in Cornwall so I’ll be completing the challenge but with raising money for Heart of Headland

💛 Heart of Headland provides new patients with a box of carefully chosen items to help them through their treatment. Each box is lovingly packed by volunteers and given to patients at the start of their treatment journey

🩵 My mum received one of these boxes when she started her treatment, so this cause feels incredibly personal to me. It was such a lovely reminder that, amongst all the medical treatment and uncertainty, there are people thinking about the little things that can make a difficult experience just a tiny bit easier

💙 Cancer is something that is so unbelievably close to home for our family right now, as it is or has been for so many people. Mum is currently undergoing treatment for Stage 4 cancer, and what a whirlwind it’s been already with so many things still feeling so unknown. So being able to raise money to support cancer care in our local community feels incredibly meaningful

🩷 Before my mum was diagnosed with cancer, she was regularly running and walking 5Ks herself, always trying to beat her previous time. So taking on 10 of them across the month only feels right

❤️‍🩹 I’ve taken things quite slowly since recovering from my ACL injury a few years ago and then having the girls etc, so this will definitely be a challenge for me! But there’s always an excuse, so I’m here to face it all and push myself this month💪🏻

💞 £45 could provide a whole Heart of Headland box. But every donation, however big or small, will make a difference - I’m aiming to raise money for 5 boxes 🤞🏻
