Story
I’m so excited (and slightly terrified!) to announce that I’ll be running the 2027 London Marathon for LOROS 💛
LOROS played a massive part in my family’s life last year, both for my Nana and my Uncle. They were there at the end for my Nana and my family, and my Uncle wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them and for that, we are eternally grateful. To top off saving his life, they enabled him and his partner to get married in the hospice too before getting him home in time for Christmas! They are a charity that means so much to so many families, providing incredible care, compassion, and support during some of life’s hardest moments. Seeing the difference they make first hand is the reason I wanted to take on this challenge for them and I’m so grateful to have been chosen to represent them!
Running 26.2 miles is going to push me so far outside my comfort zone and beyond any challenge I have ever taken on both physically and mentally. I only started running last year and back then it was a huge challenge just running in public, never mind in such a massive event like the London Marathon! Whilst I know this is going to be the hardest thing I’ve ever done and that I will be absolutely terrified, my Uncle, the patients, families and staff at LOROS go through much more challenging situations every day. Knowing that every step I take can help support the amazing work LOROS does will keep me going through the training and on marathon day itself (can’t believe I’m saying that!)
Here’s to the start of this scary, exciting, crazy and very surreal journey that I’m so grateful to be a part of 🏃🏼♀️💛
