I’ll be running the Great North Run in September, my first ever half marathon. I’ve been running for under a year so this is a huge but exciting challenge.

I’m raising money in memory of my grandad Brian, the late great Barbara Windsor and for the around 1 million people that currently have dementia in the UK.

I saw the realities for patients living with dementia only a few months ago when I visited my great aunt who is currently in a dementia care home.

Someone develops the condition every three minutes and the number of people with dementia is expected to rise to 1.4 million by 2040.

Alzheimer’s Research is the UK’s leading research charity aiming to find a cure for dementia and any spare money you could donate would go a long way.
