On the 30th December 2020, Franco was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Our world was turned upside down and our life changed direction in a second. We became parent carers in a flash and in the midst of a COVID lock down in an already difficult time we were told of a revolutionary medication which has changed CF around, it wasn't what it once was. It gave us light in an incredibly dark time.

NICE have published an update on the 3rd November. They have said that while Orkambi, Symkevi and Kaftrio are clinically effective treatments, with important benefits for people with CF, they are too expensive at the list price for them to be able to recommend them for use on the NHS.

There will now be a 4-week consultation period followed by a second committee meeting in December to discuss the consultation responses.

This has taken all the hope we have had for the last 3 years away and we are now facing an uncertain future for our little boy, we didn't for a second consider a medication that can turn his life around and in a complete different direction could be withdrawn over a price tag, to us its unexplainable there is no price on a child's life.

I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for the CF Trust for them to be able to continue campaigning and raise awareness while doing so.

I will record the numbers on a spreadsheet and use a random number generator to draw the prizes.
