Take on the iconic TCS London Marathon on Saturday 24 April 2027 and make every mile count by running for CWW Mind.

Story

On 24 April 2027, I'll be taking on the incredible challenge of running the TCS London Marathon in support of Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind (CWW Mind). Great news for my fitness goals... slightly less great news for my knees!

I'm dedicating this run to CWW Mind because mental health is a cause that's very close to my heart. Like many people, I struggle with stress, which contributes to an ongoing skin condition and reminds me how closely our mental and physical health are connected. I've also experienced significant loss throughout my life, and I know first-hand how difficult it can be to navigate emotional challenges while trying to keep everything else moving forward.

These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the vital support that CWW Mind provides to people across our communities when they need it most.

One phrase that has always stayed with me is "Always do your best." Those words will be printed on the back of my marathon vest, not just as a message to keep me going, but as a tribute to someone very special to me.

The words 'I'm doing my best' were often said by a loved one during her illness and in her final days in hospital. Despite everything she was facing, she continued to approach life with remarkable strength, courage and kindness. That simple phrase has remained with me ever since.

For me, "Always do your best" isn't about being the fastest runner or achieving a particular finish time. It's about showing up, keeping going through the difficult days, and giving the best of yourself with whatever you have to give. That's exactly the mindset I'll be taking with me through every mile of this marathon.

Whilst I'm under no illusion that training for 26.2 miles won't always be easy, I know that every mile I run and every pound raised will help support people who need access to mental health services. That's all the motivation I need to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

To secure my place, I've committed to raising a minimum of £2,500 for CWW Mind. Any donation, big or small, will make a genuine difference and be hugely appreciated.

Thank you so much for supporting my marathon journey. Your kindness, encouragement and generosity mean more than you know.

Always do your best ❤️
