Inflatable 2.5k – Wolverhampton · 29 July 2023

University Hospitals Birmingham Charity supports four hospitals in Birmingham - Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope, and Solihull. We support the patients, families and staff at our hospitals by providing 'added extras' that are over and above those which are provided by the NHS.

Story

We are raising money for ELSA diabetes research through the University Hospitals Birmingham Charity.

Meet the team: 1) Shula - team lead and cheerleader, 2) Lauren - research fellow, stand-in pancreas, 3) David - research doctor, Antibody attack.

We are so thankful to the 6000 families who have taken part in the ELSA study to help us understand more about type 1 diabetes and find it in the earliest stages.

As a thank you, we are running the 2.5k inflatable course dressed as a pancreas and antibody combination! My amazing colleague Shula, from the ELSA study team will be our support system on the day!

All the money raised will directly benefit families who have been part of the ELSA study!

Please give as generously as you can for this important cause.

The ELSA study is screening children aged 3-13 years for type 1 diabetes. Sign-up for the study here: www.elsadiabetes.nhs.uk

Thankyou!
