Paws for Pregnancy Loss 2026

Lauren Reid is raising money for The Miscarriage Association

Paws for Pregnancy Loss 2026 · 1 March 2026 to 31 March 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

This March, we’re asking you to take on a 100km walking challenge, alongside your furry companion or on your own, and help raise vital funds for people affected by the heartbreak of pregnancy loss.

Story

After years of battling anorexia and the damage done to my body, I didn't think having children naturally would be a possibility for me. When I got a positive pregnancy test on the 21st of December last year it felt like a Christmas miracle. ✨

At first I couldn't believe it was actually happening to me and I had multiple scans to prove that there was in fact a wee miracle growing inside of me and week by week I watched this miracle grow. We were just days away from being 12 weeks and announcing our news to the world when I learned on the 9th of February that baby had stopped growing at just over 11 weeks. The words "I'm so sorry but I can't find a heartbeat" are words I wouldn't wish on anyone. I had surgery to remove baby on Friday the 13th and am now just trying to get by one day at a time.

Every task feels so heavy just now and most days I stay in the safe haven of my bed. However, I want to do something to make a difference in memory of my precious angel baby and help others going through this horrendous ordeal.

The amount of support received from charities, including the Miscarriage Association, this past week has been a life saver so I want to give back.

I’m proud to be taking part in Paws For Pregnancy Loss – walking 100km in March to fundraise for the Miscarriage Association - to raise awareness of the vital support services the charity offers, and raising funds to ensure they can be there for those who need them most.

Pregnancy loss affects so many lives, and often it’s our furry companions who stay close through the hardest moments. They don’t ask questions or need explanations. They simply show up, offering comfort, routine, and unconditional love when words are hard to find.

We know how powerful that quiet support can be. Paws for Pregnancy Loss is a way to honour the role pets play in our lives, and the comfort they bring during times of loss.

By taking on this challenge and supporting the Miscarriage Association, we're helping ensure no one has to face pregnancy loss alone – and showing how even the smallest steps, taken together, can make a real difference.
