Hi, my name is Lauren Roe.

I was very active in my younger years, competing in events with Crewe and Nantwich Athletics Club as an anthlete. Over the past few years, I stepped away from running, but I now want to rediscover that passion in what I loved doing best now as a personal interest.

That’s why I’m taking part in the 5K Run For The 97.

I’m personally dedicating this run to the memory of my late uncle, Keo Martin, who sadly passed away from cancer in 2024. Keo was my favourite uncle. Sorry Jeff no hard feelings :). This means a great deal not only to me, but towards my family as well.

I want to make every step count.

Join us in Stanley Park on Saturday 23 May 2026, or support virtually at home in the UK or overseas, as we run to remember at the 12th Run For The 97. Stanley Park is located just a short walk from Liverpool Football Club’s Anfield Stadium–the perfect backdrop for this special event.

Virtual registrations are welcome on the day and participants are sent their run number, T-shirt, and medal prior to the event so they can still join in on event day.

Run For The 97 remembers the families of The 97 and the survivors, who have tirelessly fought for justice with the utmost dignity.

Please note: Although fundraising for this event is being administrated by LFC Foundation, this year’s three official charities are Jamie Carragher’s 23 Foundation; LFC Foundation; and Stanley Park junior parkrun and its two sister parkrun events at The Mystery Park in Wavertree and Derby Park in Bootle. Funds raised will be split equally between the three charities.
