Story

This year I am running the Great South, nine years after my first attempt, when I was a lot fitter and a lot faster! I am running for a very important cause and in memory of a very special little boy.

Last September, one of my closest friends had the terrible news, at her 20 week scan, that her baby was incredibly ill. In that moment, her and her husband's life changed and they had to make a decision which is unfathomable to any parent. On 25th September 2023, William Brown was born. His entrance into this world was also his exit and hello was also goodbye. It's left a permanent mark on us all.

I had never heard from TMFR - termination for medical reason - until that day and I now realise how little anyone really understands its complexities and the terrible trauma that it can bring. Winchester Pregnancy Crisis are a charity who helped my friends through this time and it would mean so much to be able to raise money for them so that they can continue to support families in crisis. Please donate if you can.

This run is for William, the little boy who exists in our thoughts and our dreams and in the stars. We will never forget you.
