Story

I’m taking on the challenge of swimming around Brownsea Island to raise money for Face Everything And Rise (FEAR). The swim is on 27th September and is 6.5km which will be a huge challenge this long out of swimming retirement!

FEAR is a fantastic charity, supporting children and adults who live with complex health conditions requiring artificial nutrition, feeding tubes or long-term treatment through a central line. I currently work with the founder of this charity who is an inspiration to so many. To find out more about FEAR please check out the website and socials and you will be blown away.

FEAR helps people and their families feel less isolated by providing support, wellbeing services, family events and opportunities to take part in activities that many of us take for granted — including swimming, sailing and other outdoor adventures. They also provide specialist drysuits so that people with central lines can safely enjoy the water.

I’d love to raise enough through this swim to help FEAR purchase another drysuit (or two). A drysuit can give someone the chance to get back in the water, enjoy time with family and friends, build confidence and experience the freedom and joy that swimming can bring.

Any donation, however big or small, would be hugely appreciated and will help FEAR give more people the opportunity to enjoy the water. Thank you for your support! 🏊‍♂️💙
