Bright Northumbria is the charity of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, providing support to the trust's hospitals and community services provided across North Tyneside and Northumberland.

I have chosen to raise money for Bright Northumbria due to the important funding they provide for Teardrop. This incredible charity supports families through one of the most heartbreaking experiences imaginable – the loss of a baby during pregnancy, birth or shortly afterwards.

As a midwife, this cause is especially close to my heart. I have seen first hand the comfort and compassion that Teardrop offers to bereaved families at a time of unimaginable grief. Their support helps parents feel less alone, creating space for them to honour and remember their baby with dignity, love and care.
