Sky-Diving for the Scoo-B-Doo Neonatal Fund

Lauren Thurland is raising money for Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity

10,000 Ft Sky Dive · 27 June 2026

Each year, over 600 newborn infants need dedicated care in the Neonatal Ward at our hospitals. Our neonatal fund continues the exceptional work of our partner charity Scoo-B-Doo, who provide over 80% of the equipment used on the ward every day.

Story

As most of you may know, my darling little girl Theia was born eight weeks premature. She needed extra support to grow big and strong. In those first few weeks, she received incredible care from the Neonatal Ward staff in Gloucester. They helped her become the sassiest little firecracker she is today. During such a scary time, they provided support and we will forever be incredibly grateful for.

My eldest, Macy, was also born four weeks early and struggled with jaundice. She needed a little UV light and blue light therapy to clear it. At the time, I was a young mum completely out of my depth but the nurse who sat with me overnight, reassuring me when I broke down, is someone I’ll never forget. If I could go back and tell her she was right, we made it, age never mattered and it never defined us!

My goddaughter Matilda was also cared for by the neonatal team after her birth. While she wasn’t as impatient as my girls and kept us waiting to meet her, she too was born quite poorly and required extra special care. She too came out the other side and is thriving!

The Scoo-B-Doo Neonatal Fund is a charity close to my heart. For a while, I’ve been considering what I can do and decided I’d jump out of a plane at 10,000 feet. I want it to mean something so please help me raise some money to support the neonatal team and keep them as well-equipped as possible.

The Jump date has been secured, it's taking place on the 27th June 2026. I hope it earns me some cool mum/auntie points in the process of raising money for a truly special cause.
