Story
Making The Leap, an innovative grassroots societal change charity based in London, aims to transform the futures of less-advantaged young people in the UK by providing training to boost their aspirations and develop their skills, confidence, and outlook in choosing and succeeding with a career.
I've worked at Howard Kennedy since 2022, during which I've been on the charity committee, and part of the process of voting for MTL to become our charity partner. I've been actively involved with MTL on a regular basis, forming close and personal relationships with several of the MTL staff and fellows.
I've fundraised for MTL at many events over our relationship, including three half marathons, two Tough Mudder events, and smaller events we host such as bake sales and raffles. I love a physical challenge and having MTL as motivation really inspires me to keep on top of training, fundraise and participate in the challenge event itself.
Working at a City law firm (especially as a trainee) has its challenges, especially responsible business challenges. For me, being part of the charity committee and working so closely with MTL has been such an incredible and important way for me to be able to be part of something meaningful through my working life. This is important to me on a personal level and I'm grateful to Howard Kennedy and MTL for this.
I'm passionate about helping to achieve social mobility and using my privilege and platform to do so. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to run the London marathon to raise more funds and raise more awareness for MTL. This is my first marathon so I'm a little nervous, but mostly excited for this opportunity.
Any donations are hugely appreciated and will go a long way.
