Story
Lauren is challenging herself to do a half marathon on September 13th and Ryan will be doing an ultra marathon 50km on August 16th for this important cause very close to our hearts 🩷
Despite affecting thousands of people, aphasia remains widely misunderstood. We are taking on this challenge to raise awareness of the condition and help more people understand how patience, empathy, and simple changes in communication can make a huge difference to someone living with aphasia.
We have witnessed the positive life-changing impact that the right support, community, and understanding can have for people recovering from a stroke. Aphasia can make communication challenging, isolating, and frustrating, but with therapy, welcoming spaces, and compassionate support, people can rebuild confidence, connection, and independence.
Alongside raising awareness, we hope to raise funds for Aphasia Support to help ensure more people living with aphasia can access the support, resources, and community they deserve.
If you're able to donate, share our page, or simply cheer us on as we take on the half marathon, it would mean so much. Every contribution helps Aphasia Support continue their vital work supporting stroke survivors and their families.
