Story

I'm running the London Marathon to raise funds for the Runnymede Trust, an organisation I deeply care about and was proud to work for. Runnymede's work tackling inequality in the UK has never been more vital, particularly in the current global context. From exposing systemic injustices to taking action through impactful projects, Runnymede is leading the way in creating a fairer, more inclusive society.

Inequities in education, employment, housing, criminal justice, health and elsewhere continue to grow. Runnymede not only highlights these injustices but presses for—and increasingly drives—real change. By donating, you’ll be directly supporting their mission to build a better, more equitable future for everyone.

Why a marathon? Well, running 26.2 miles may seem like an odd choice for someone who only started running in August (and had never previously run anywhere except maybe for a bus). But as I approach my 40th birthday, my emerging midlife crisis seems to have skipped the flashy cars and landed firmly on blisters, shin splints, and zone 2 training (whatever that is)...

Ultimately though, I wanted to take on a challenge that pushes me physically and mentally, all while supporting a cause I believe in. This is a real challenge for me and I really value your support. Every donation, big or small, will fuel me through this next few months, keeping me motivated to lace up my trainers on those cold winter mornings. I need all the help I can get! More importantly, you'll be contributing to the vital work of the Runnymede Trust at a pivotal time for social justice movements.

Thank you so much for supporting.
