Story
I'm proud to represent Ategi, a place that is very dear to my heart, and just want to do a little something to help a wonderful charity do more of the great work it is already doing!
Ategi is a Wales-based charity working alongside adults with disabilities and additional needs. Over the last 25 years, its community-based supported living solutions have transformed the lives of over 1,000 individuals, enabling them to live their best lives, their way.
Opportunity is a fabulous thing - and this opportunity to jump from a terrific height for no good reason other than to half terrify me and my family seemed too good to turn down! But the real motivation for this is that the money raised will help Ategi achieve its goal of giving people who require more support than some of us similar opportunities in their lives to live more independently and access a quality of life that many take for granted.
Ategi's Wellbeing Fund was launched in response to the cost of living increases and its effect on the quality of life of the people it supports.

The people Ategi supports often experience multiple disadvantages. They face physical barriers in trying to access public buildings and transport, financial disadvantage due to low income and additional expenses (such as support staff, specialist resources or equipment) and social exclusion resulting from prejudice and discrimination.
The Ategi Wellbeing Fund appeal aims to raise money so it can provide small grants to people that need it, making a big difference to their wellbeing.
Examples of what the fund might support include:
- Transport costs to do a course or to a social event.
- Helping to pay for pet food to enable the therapeutic and companionship benefits of a pet to be affordable
- Equipment or adaptations to improve quality of life.
- Money towards holiday costs, in particular where a person needs to pay for their support worker in addition to themselves, or for expensive specialised accommodation in order to meet their needs.
