We are Lauren and Jess, a Physiotherapist and an Occupational Therapist. Two silly billies setting ourselves a challenge for something we both care deeply about.

We are setting out to climb the three tallest mountains in the UK in 24 hours. We are beezing up and down Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon for the fun of it… all in one day. However, in addition we hope to raise money for a very important charity: Medical Aid for Palestine.

The Israeli bombardment of Gaza has left a lot of us feeling helpless and wanting desperately to do something to help our suffering brothers and sisters in Palestine. We believe that adequate healthcare is a basic human right for everyone residing on this planet. As healthcare workers, we find it deeply disturbing that Palestinians do not have access to this fundamental right at this time of war.

As little as this fundraiser is, with already over 37,000 killed, 14,000 of these children, 685 healthcare workers, 19,000 orphans, 1.7 million people displaced, 80,000 wounded/disabled; we feel strongly about raising as much awareness and money for this charity as we possibly can. The fact is many died due to besieged/bombed hospitals, lack of medical aid and healthcare staff.

So please dig deep, give to this important cause and give us a boost up those mountains!
