I am running the Leeds half marathon in May 2026 in memory of the most amazing man, my uncle Andy. Those of you that knew him will know he was the biggest personality, with the wittiest jokes and the biggest heart. Sadly, he was taken from us suddenly and prematurely by a condition suspected to be ‘SADS’ (sudden arrhythmic death).

Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome is the unexpected, sudden death of a person—caused by cardiac arrest, where a post-mortem exam reveals no obvious structural cause of death.

Unfortunately this condition affects many young people and children & can often strike without warning, leaving many families devastated.

SADS UK charity helps Save Lives. They support people affected by Sudden Arrhythmic Death & other inherited cardiac conditions. They provide defibrillators, lifesaving training & Post CPR support. SADS UK fund vital research into identifying & treating complex conditions that can cause sudden death.
