Laurie’s three peaks challenge for Churchill hospital

Three peak challenge · 28 August 2023
Around a year ago my hereditary renal failure peaked and my kidney function dropped to 3%.
Luckily I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by an incredible array of friends and family. A humbling collection of these wonderful people offered to be kidney donors and after several had been through rigorous testing a best match was found.
Andrew Small was the hero that was called into action and ended up on the operating table (not to mention the long and painful recovery as well as all of the other risks associated with such a major operation).
Obviously there is no way of thanking Andy or the other potential donors but as a gesture, myself and two of the other volunteers (Mike Hopkins and Jon Lloyd) will be raising money by attempting to complete the Three Peaks Challenge (climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in twenty four hours) from the 28th - 29th August.
All the money we raise will be donated to the incredible team at The Churchill Hospital Oxford who looked after us both with such care. I would be hugely grateful if you are able to donate to these incredible professionals.
